The 2018 Chardonnay Eyrie Vineyard comes from the old vines planted in 1968 to Draper selection. Jim Maresh has crafted a stunning wine with the fruit from Jason Lett’s property, a layered, complex wine full of personality. It has inviting aromas of spring honey, crushed almonds, quince, spice and mineral tones. The medium-bodied palate is satiny, savory and intense, maintaining an energetic sense of tanginess and minerality, particularly on the ethereal finish. If you can get your hands on some, stash it away for another 2-3 years.
